The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 1964

Schedule 3, paragraph 1 updated a cross-reference in the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 1964 to reflect the consolidation of vehicle excise law into the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994.

• This paragraph amended section 9(6) of the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 1964 by substituting an outdated legislative reference with a reference to the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994.
• The amendment was purely technical, updating the name of the statute referred to in connection with vehicle registration and excise provisions.
• This paragraph has since been repealed in England and Wales, effective from 1 October 2013, by the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013.
• The repeal reflects the replacement of the entire Scrap Metal Dealers Act 1964 framework with the updated 2013 legislation governing scrap metal dealers.
