Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 schedule 2A paragraph 10

Application of provisions

Paragraph 10 of schedule 2A sets out how the regulations governing immobilisation, removal and disposal of unlicensed vehicles may be limited by date and geographical area.

  • The regulations may be restricted so that they only apply where the authorised person believes the vehicle excise offence is being committed before a specified date.
  • The regulations may be limited so that they only apply where the vehicle in question is located within a prescribed geographical area.
  • Different dates may be set for different prescribed areas, allowing a phased or regional rollout of the enforcement powers.
  • These provisions give the government flexibility to introduce the immobilisation and removal regime gradually across different parts of the country.
